Hall Train Studio is a world leader in realistic dinosaur products, creating exhibits in various museums and theme parks around the world. After working with them on the Baby Triceratops dinosaur puppet, we were once again given an exciting project from Hall Train. This time we were asked to develop a controller, with sound, for a mine shaft themed mini-golf course.

The Project |

The project was for Cardinal Golf Club, a prestigious golf course just north of Toronto, Canada. Hall Train Studio designed the Mine-theme, complete with sounds and moving props. Hall Train Studio was making all the props, from the actual miners to their equipment and hats. What we had to do was take care of all the sounds and actuators.

The controller we developed had to control a scene whenever a proximity sensor was triggered on a given hole. A scene would consist of various mining sounds, with the miner props doing simple head and arm movements.
The systems we developed had to be cost effective and durable, and even after years of use are still up and running.
